Mood disturbance is a pervasive problem affecting persons of all ages in the general population and the subset of those receiving services from different health care providers. interRAI assessment instruments comprise an integrated health information system providing a common approach to comprehensive assessment of the strengths, preferences and needs of persons with complex needs across the continuum of care.

Our objective was to create new mood scales for use with the full suite of interRAI assessments including a composite version with both clinician-rated and self-reported items as well as a self-report only version.

We completed a cross-sectional analysis of 511,641 interRAI assessments of Canadian adults aged 18+ in community mental health, home care, community support services, nursing homes, palliative care, acute hospital, and general population surveys to develop, test, and refine new measures of mood disturbance that combined clinician and self-rated items. We examined validity and internal cs. Incorporating a person-centered approach to assessment, the composite scale considers the person’s perspective and clinician views to provide a sensitive and robust measure that considers mood disturbances related to dysphoria, anxiety, and anhedonia.

A number of studies have documented that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) brought more negative impact on the physical and psychological functioning of frontline healthcare workers. Especially, sleep quality was focused. This study aimed to investigate the sleep quality of frontline healthcare workers, risk factors for sleep quality, and the effect of Tai Chi training.

A total of 98 frontline healthcare workers were recruited, coming from the infection department, fever clinic, laboratory, and medical imaging department in a COVID-19-designated hospital in Shanghai. Of them, 50 participated in a 2-week intervention and were randomized to receive a Tai Chi training or relaxation training. Participants were assessed at baseline, 7 and 14 days after participation. Demographic information, sleep quality, and anxiety were measured by using the demographic questionnaire, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI).

13.3% participants were above the cut-off score (>10) for the PSQI. Regression analysis showed gender, age, working years, and job category had effect on sleep quality. Compared to the control group, participants in the Tai Chi training group had lower scores on both PSQI (

    < 0.05) and BAI (

    < 0.01) after the 2-week intervention.

It was demonstrated that poor sleep quality existed in the frontline healthcare workers, which was related to gender, age, working years, and job category. Tai Chi training can dramatically improve their sleep quality and reduce anxiety symptoms.

Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the gold standard treatment of large kidney stones that has rare but serious complications such as gallbladder injury. In this article, a 62-year-old woman with a right lower kidney who was scheduled for PCNL was presented. The patient had acute abdomen on the first day after PCNL, so explorative laparotomy and cholecystectomy were done. The patient was discharged five days after surgery in good condition.

    Endourology/Stone Disease.

Endourology/Stone Disease.Endometriosis is a common gynecological disorder in which endometrial tissue is located outside the uterine cavity. Urinary tract involvement by endometriosis is uncommon. Renal endometriosis is a rare disorder and is not evident on imaging. It may be misdiagnosed as malignant disease and patients may undergo invasive procedures for it. We report a case of a young lady who presented with symptoms typical for renal mass, and was diagnosed as a tumor on imaging. Patient underwent radical surgery and histology revealed renal endometriosis.

Xanthogranulomatous orchitis is a rare non-malignant condition. This study reports a new case of xanthogranulomatous orchitis in a 77-year-old male, who presented with acute right scrotal mass. Ultrasound and computed tomography showed a heterogenous lesion involving the testis, with a loculated collection in the overlying scrotal wall. Scrotal exploration revealed an abscess involving the scrotal skin, with hard mass involving the testis, with histological evidence of infiltration and replacement of most testicular parenchyma. This case highlights this important consideration for xanthogranulomatous orchitis in the differential of testicular mass, particularly when associated with a purulent collection.

•Inflammation and Infection•General Urology.Authors report an emphysematous pyelonephritis case of bilateral urogenital lithiasis diseases on one hand, and on other, therapeutic approach through 38-year-old patient observation, non-diabetic, treated by percutaneous drainage in first intention, followed by a Nephro-ureterolithotomy and the right double J probe installation. Evolution post-treatment was satisfactory.Penile neoplasm is uncommon, and multiple penile schwannomas are even rarer. We report a case of a 37-year-old man with multiple schwannomas on the left side of the penis, which had been present for more than 10 years without significant enlargement during erection and had recently been associated with mild pain. Ultrasonography revealed several subcutaneous heterogeneous hypoechoic of penile, the larger of which was approximately 1.9 × 0.9 cm. The patient underwent penile mass excision, and pathology and immunohistochemistry confirmed that it was schwannoma. The patient was followed up for 3 years without recurrence or metastasis. The dataset presented contains ultrasonic data recorded in pulse echo mode. The investigated specimen is made of the isotropic homogeneous material polyamide and has a drill hole of constant diameter running parallel to the surface, which was scanned in a point grid using an automatic scanner system. At each measuring position, a pitch-catch measurement was performed using a sampling rate of 2 MHz. The probes used are arrays consisting of a spatially separated receiving and in-phase transmitting unit. The transmitting and receiving sides each consist of 12 point-shaped single probes. These dry-point contact (DPC) probes operate according to the piezoelectric principle at nominal frequencies of 55 kHz (shear waves) and 100 kHz (longitudinal waves), respectively, and do not require a coupling medium. The measurements are performed with longitudinal (100 kHz) and transverse (55 kHz) waves with different geometric orientations of the probe on the measurement surface. The data presented in the article provide a valid source for evaluating reconstruction algorithms for imaging in the low-frequency ultrasound range. This article contains data related to the research article in this issue titled ameloblastin promotes polarization of ameloblast cell lines in a 3D cell culture system (Visakan et al., 2022). In the process of amelogenesis, the organic matrix components are pivotal to the establishment of ameloblast-matrix adhesion. Here we employ immortalized ameloblast cell lines and analyse their morphological changes in 3D cell culture when cultured in the presence of recombinant enamel matrix proteins- ameloblastin and amelogenin compared with controls. The recombinant proteins that were purified using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were characterized using SDS-gel electrophoresis. A 3D-on-top culture technique was employed, and the cells were analysed 24 and 72 h post inoculation using fluorescent and confocal microscopy for qualitative and quantitative changes. Aspect ratio of cells was measured and used as the parameter to compare between test proteins and controls. Repeated measurements of aspect ratio were recorded to analyse for statistical significance. Additionally, three distinct gel substrates were studied to examine the effect of composition and stiffness of the substrate on cell behaviour. The cells in the 3D culture were fixed and labelled using antibodies to junctional complex, polarity and tight junctional proteins following protocols for whole culture fixation. Co-localization between membrane and specific antibody labels were examined under confocal microscopy.

Dietary diversification is considered the proxy indicator of dietary quality and nutrient adequacy during pregnancy. Pregnant women have been considered susceptible to malnutrition because of their increased nutrient demands and thus consuming a variety of foods in their diet plays a lion’s role in ensuring adequate nutrient intake. So understanding bottleneck factors associated with dietary diversity practice is very crucial to encouraging adequate dietary diversity practice. Therefore, this paper aimed to assess determinants of dietary diversity practice among pregnant women in the Gurage zone, Southwest Ethiopia.

A community-based cross-sectional analytical study was conducted among 726 pregnant women, 13 key informants, and 27 focus group discussion

in the Gurage zone, southwest Ethiopia, from 1 September to 1 November 2021. A face-to-face interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect the data. According to the Minimum Dietary Diversity Score for Women (MDD-W) tool, women who consumed s empowerment.

The overall prevalence of adequate dietary diversity practice was found to be low in this study when compared to studies conducted in Ethiopia. Maternal educations, mothers’ attitudes toward dietary diversity, women empowerment, food security status, and wealth index level of the household were determinant factors that influence dietary diversity practice in this study. Therefore, programs aimed to improve pregnant women’s dietary diversity practice should focus on improving the socioeconomic status and creating a congenial environment to promote women’s empowerment.Large gallstones could erode through gallbladder wall to nearby structures, causing fistulas, gastric outlet obstruction and gallstone ileus. They typically occur in elderly patients with comorbidities carrying therapeutic challenges. We present a case of a middle-aged woman who was thought to have symptomatic cholelithiasis. Extensive adhesions precluded safe cholecystectomy. While hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid scan and magnetic resonance imaging with cholangiopancreatography (MRI-MRCP) failed to visualize the gallbladder, computed tomography (CT) was consistent with cholecystoduodenal fistula. A very large gallstone was seen endoscopically in the duodenum, which was broken down into pieces using a large stiff snare.
