Early diagnosis and prediction will greatly improve the treatment outcome. Many clinical parameters have been used as diagnostic and prognostic factors for cervical cancer patients, including tumor stage, histological type, lymph node status, but with limitations in prediction accuracy. The development of noninvasive biomarker with the potential to provide more specific tumor characterization before treatment begins or during therapy is urgent needed, which may permit clinicians to administer a more individualized anti-cancer treatment. Radiomics is a mathematical-statistical procedure extracting information from medial images, which has the potential for prediction of staging, histological type, node status, relapse and survival in patients with cervical cancer. In this manuscript, we reviewed recent clinical studies and future potential for the application of radiomics in the treatment of patients with cervical cancer, and discussed the current challenges and limitations of radiomics for oncology.The prognosis of recurrent or metastatic endometrial cancer is poor, with five-year survival of only 10-20 %. First-line therapy consists of either platinum-based chemotherapy or hormonal therapy. No standard subsequent-line therapy has been identified. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the knowledge on underlying molecular biology of endometrial cancer and potential targets for therapy have been identified. Targeted therapies as poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors and immunotherapy as PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint inhibitors have the potential to be effective against specific subtypes of endometrial cancer. Preclinical studies have shown that combining these agents may result in a synergistic effect. In this review, we focus on the molecular basis of checkpoint inhibition and targeted therapy as PARP inhibition in endometrial cancer and summarize available clinical data, and ongoing and planned clinical trials that investigate these agents as mono- or combination therapies in endometrial cancer and where relevant, other gynecological cancers.The treatment landscape for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) has undergone a substantial evolution in the past decade, with a dramatic increase in the number of available systemic therapies. Although this offers promise for improved patient outcomes, this rapid pace in development has led to new challenges in therapeutic choice. For instance, the absence of direct comparative evidence across all therapeutic options has led to a critical gap in evidence to clearly define preferred systemic therapy choice. Additionally, the rising cost of systemic therapies being evaluated for mRCC necessitates demonstration of cost-effectiveness prior to widespread adoption. This review provides an overview of the current treatment landscape in mRCC to highlight the emerging challenges faced by clinicians and health policy-makers. In addition, this review summarizes the currently available evidence that aims to address the above challenges.Aim To investigate anxiety, stress, and depression levels of physicians during the Covid-19 outbreak and explored associated factors in both clinical and general site. Methods An online survey is conducted to asses psychological responses of healthcare workers and related factors during Covid-19 outbreak. It is consisted of three subsections covering the following areas 1) sociodemographic data 2) information on individuals` working condition 3) Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DAS-21). Results Of all 442 participants, 286 (64.7%) had symptoms of depression, 224 (51.6%) anxiety, and 182 (41.2%) stress. Being female, young, and single, having less work experience, working in frontline were associated with higher scores, whereas having a child was associated with lower scores in each subscale. Factors found to be associated with higher DAS-21 total scores in frontline workers were as follows increased weekly working hours, increased number of Covid-19 patients cared for, lower level of support from peers and supervisors, lower logistic support, and lower feelings of competence during Covid-19 related tasks. Conclusions Our findings highlight the factors which need to be taken into consideration to protect the mental wellbeing of doctors while fighting with a disaster that has major impacts on society worldwide.Attitude to death and death anxiety in patients with severe psychiatric disorders have been studied rarely so far, although this is an existential perspective for each human being and clinically seems to be changed in patients with depression and schizophrenia. Patients with depression (mean age 46.30 ± 13.39; 12 women, 8 men) and schizophrenia (mean age 38.95 ± 1285; 9 women, 11 men), as well as healthy controls, were included in the study. Death anxiety and attitude to death were assessed using the newly developed and currently validated BOFRETTA scale. Attitude to death was significantly worse in the group of patients with schizophrenia, especially in those with prominent negative symptoms. Concerning death anxiety, patients with schizophrenia and also those with depression exhibited higher mean values compared with healthy controls in the same age range. These results suggest that there are specific similarities and differences concerning attitude to death and death anxiety in patients with psychotic and affective disorders. It can be concluded that existential aspects such as death and meaningful life should also be considered within the treatment of patients with severe mental disorders.Hemangioarcoma in the cat is an infrequently diagnosed tumor, and cardiac involvement is rare. We report a previously healthy, 8-year-old, domestic shorthair cat with acute collapse associated with pericardial effusion and cardiac tamponade. Following pericardiocentesis and removal of 15 mL of fluid, the cat improved rapidly. A massive, space-occupying, intrapericardial tumor adhered to and compressing the right atrium and ventricle was detected by echocardiography. Approximately 5 weeks following initial presentation, bicavitary effusion and tachypnea developed, and the cat was euthanized. Necropsy revealed a giant intrapericardial mass adhered to and impinging upon the right heart. Histologic and immunohistochemical examination confirmed hemangiosarcoma with no gross or histologic evidence of metastasis. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first account of a pericardial-occupying, primary feline cardiac hemangiosarcoma resulting in compression of the right heart and cardiac tamponade, Further, this report describes novel clinicopathological relationships between radiographic and echocardiographic findings and gross and microscopic pathology.Endophytes are beneficial plant microbes which help the plants by producing various plant growth promoting substances and also by acting as biocontrol agents against various plant pathogens. In the present study, evaluation of endophytic bacteria isolated from Gnetum gnemon, an ethnomedicinal plant was carried out for their plant growth promoting (PGP) activity and antagonistic potential against bacterial wilt pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum. Initially a total of 40 endophytic bacteria were isolated which were clustered into 13 groups based on RFLP and BOX-PCR fingerprinting. These 13 representative isolates belonged to different genera of Bacillus (9), Solibacillus (1), Staphylococcus (2) and Caballeronia (1). Among them, six isolates were positive for production of IAA, the value of which ranged from 11.16 to 27.63 μg mL-1. Phosphate solubilisation in the range of 106.4 to -212.7 μg mL-1 was shown by three isolates. Eight isolates producedammonia, the value of which ranged from 1.3 to 6.1 μmol mL-1. All tesation of Bacillus velezensis GL3 alone and consortia of three isolates showed significant improvement in growth parameters such as shoot length, fresh weight and dry weight in a pot experiment. Colonization of endosphere of treated tomato seedlings by the endophytic isolate Bacillus velezensis GL3 was confirmed by visualization of colony morphology and BOX-PCR fingerprinting. Our study highlights the potential of endophytes associated with unexplored plants like G. gnemon for development of bioformulation aimed at enhancing plant growth and bacterial wilt disease control.Herein we demonstrate cultivation-dependent siderophore production by the actinomycete Gordonia rubripertincta CWB2. The strain produces mostly citrate, but also desferrioxamine E (DFOE) and new hydroxamate-type siderophores. The production of hydroxamate-like siderophores is influenced by cultivation conditions, for example available carbon sources or presence of metals, such as the rare earth erbium or the heavy metal lead. By cultivation with succinate and extraction with an adsorbing resin (XAD) we purified the G. rubripertincta CWB2 siderophores (yield up to 178 mg L-1). The respective workflow comprises genome mining, cultivation, and overproduction strategies, a rapid screening procedure, as well as traditional structure enrichment and structure elucidation methods. This combination of methods allows the discovery of new natural products with metal complexation capacity, also for lanthanides of commercial value. G. rubripertincta CWB2 carries a desferrioxamine-like biosynthetic gene cluster. Its transcription was proven by a transcriptomic approach comparing expression levels of the selected gene cluster during cultivation in iron-depleted and repleted media. Further investigation of the siderophores of this desferrioxamine producing Actinobacterium could lead to new structures.Background and aims Blood glucose monitoring is very important for individuals with diabetes due to its rate determining role in medication strength adjustment and observation of possible life-threatening hypoglycemia. Possible non-invasive devices can overcome some of these burdens and could increase adherence towards checking blood glucose. Methods Data extraction methods were primarily based through various PubMed scholarly articles for real-world examples of non-invasive approaches. Additional articles were used in adjust as supplementary to the PubMed articles. Results Non-invasive technology is being heavily researched and could create a new market that could offer novel options for blood glucose monitoring at home. The lack of adherence for blood glucose monitoring may be tied to current blood glucose monitoring devices, which require invasive procedures that are often painful and expensive to acquire. Certain non-invasive devices have and are being developed for accurately assessing the blood glucose levels of individuals when compared to current blood glucose monitoring devices. Conclusion Blood glucose monitoring is very important for the health and safety of individuals with diabetes. It is important to consider the direct problems that may occur from the lack of adherence to blood glucose monitoring and propose options to help reduce the issues associated with current devices. Different non-invasive technologies can tailor to the needs of patients with diabetes based on the body target that is used for detection. Further research may be needed to help improve the specificity and sensitivity of certain technologies.
