Our in-silico platform was successful in identifying VT exit sites for a variety of different VT morphologies from both ECG correlation maps and corresponding EGM maps, with the latter dependent upon the number of sensing vectors used. We also showed the added utility of both ECG and EGM reference-less pace-mapping for the identification of slow-conducting isthmuses, uncovering the optimal algorithm parameters. Finally, EGM-based pace-mapping was shown to be more dependent upon the mapped surface (epicardial/endocardial), relative to the VT origin.

Managing bone defects is a critical aspect of total knee arthroplasty. In this study, we compared the metal block and cement-screw techniques for the treatment of Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute type 2A tibial bone defects from the biomechanical standpoint.
The metal block and cement-screw techniques were applied to finite element models of 5- and 10-mm tibial bone defects. Biomechanical compatibility was evaluated based on the stress distributions of the proximal tibia and tibial tray. The displacement of the tibial tray and maximum relative micromotion between the tibial stem and tibia were analyzed to assess the stability of the implant.
The maximum stress in both the proximal tibia and tibial tray was greater with the cement-screw technique than with the metal block technique. The stress of the proximal lateral tibia with the cement-screw technique was significantly larger than with the metal block technique (p<0.05). For the 5-mm bone defect, the maximum relative micromotion was lower than the critical value of 150μm. For the 10-mm defect, the maximum relative micromotion was 128μm with the metal block technique and 155μm with the cement-screw technique, with the latter exceeding the critical value.

Although the importance of secure interpersonal attachment as a protective factor for older adults has been well established, research into object attachment in older adults is still a nascent field. As individuals age, they inevitably experience a series of cognitive, emotional, and physical changes that may influence their attachment to objects. Life events may impact the way that we view our possessions, particularly over time. Given individual differences, multiple pathways may affect normative object attachment as we age.
Aspirin reduces colorectal cancer (CRC) incidence and mortality. Understanding the biology responsible for this protective effect is key to developing biomarker-led approaches for rational clinical use. Wnt signaling drives CRC development from initiation to progression through regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer stem cell populations. Here, we investigated whether aspirin can rescue these proinvasive phenotypes associated with CRC progression in Wnt-driven human and mouse intestinal organoids.

This overview has a focus on the different topics, in particular on the different elements of the Periodic Table and on papers that have received very large numbers of citations. Over the whole period, copper has been the element occurring in most publications (almost 1800, which is 20%), followed by iron which occurs in some 12% of all papers. Other favorite elements are zinc, platinum and ruthenium. The worldwide origin of papers published in JIB has been analyzed as well, showing a quite evenly worldwide distribution, with just a few exceptions. Trends in selected scientific topics over time (first 10 years; last 25 years, last 10 years) are also discussed. The numerical information is based on an analysis of the Web of Science with a cutoff date around July 1, 2020.HPV-infection in patients with HNSCC is reportedly correlated with sexual behavior, age, and tobacco/alcohol-consumption. HPV-infections of the oral cavity are regarded as sexually transmitted. Comparable data of patient populations outside the U.S. are sparse or missing. Questionnaires regarding sexual behavior, education tobacco- and alcohol-consumption, were given to 28 patients with tonsillar hyperplasia (H) and 128 patients with tonsillar carcinomas (CA), all with tissue-typed HPV-DNA-status performing PCR. Answers were correlated among groups and HPV-status. 106 questionnaires were analyzed. Comparisons between H- (n = 25) and CA- (n = 81) patients showed that CA-patients were older (61.1yrs ± 9.3) than H-patients (45.2yrs ± 11.9; p less then 0.0001; Student’s t-test); had a lower educational level (p = 0.0095); and lower number of sexual partners (p = 0.0222; Fisher’s exact test). All groups showed a significant correlation between smoking and lack of HPV-DNA-positivity (p = 0.001). Further Fisher’s exact tests and logistic regression analysis revealed in all 106 patients no significant correlations between tissue-HPV-status and the analyzed parameters. Despite the limited sample size, we were able to confirm the established correlation between smoking and tissue-HPV-status. The correlation between sexual behavior and HPV-infection was not confirmed. No consensus exists in the literature about the latter. Our data does not support the strict classification of oral HPV-infections and HPV-driven HNSCCs as STDs.This study investigated whether bioaugmentation improves sulfamethoxazole (SMX) degradation and nitrogen removal in the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) system. The effects of the C/N ratio on SMX degradation and nitrogen removal were also evaluated. Using MBBR system operation experiments, the bioaugmented reactor was found to perform more effectively than the non-bioaugmentation reactor, with the highest SMX, nitrate-N, and ammonia-N removal efficiencies of 80.49, 94.70, and 96.09%, respectively. The changes in the sulfonamide resistance genes and bacterial communities were detected at various operating conditions. The results indicate that the diversity of the bacterial communities and the abundance of resistance genes were markedly influenced by bioaugmentation and the C/N ratio, with Achromobacter among the dominant genera in the MBBR system. The bio-toxicity of samples, calculated as the inhibition percentage (IP) toward Escherichia coli, was found to decrease to non-toxic ranges after treatment.
Depression is one of the biggest global health problems, especially among emerging adults (18 to 25). A negative body image is a well-known risk factor for the development of depressive symptoms. However, little is known about how different aspects of body image relate to depressive symptoms. Therefore, the current study explores the relation between body satisfaction, body investment, and depressive symptoms, moderated by sex and physical activity, among a non-clinical sample of emerging adults.
Cross-sectional data from 410 Dutch emerging adults (M
=21.95 years, SD=1.98, 80.60% women) within a convenience sample was used within a hierarchical multiple regression analysis.
Results showed that a higher body satisfaction and more body investment were related to fewer depressive symptoms. This relation was somewhat stronger for body investment than for body satisfaction. Furthermore, the relation between lower body satisfaction and more depressive symptoms was stronger for participants with a lower level of physical activity. No other moderation effects were found.
This results should be seen within the light of their limitations. This study used cross-sectional data and therefore no causal relations can be determined. Also, the sample was biased in which mostly highly educated females participated.
However, this research is unique for adding different concepts of body image in one model. The findings propose that interventions regarding depressive symptoms among emerging adults should focus, next to body satisfaction, on the emotional investment in the body and the enhancement of physical activity.

Japan Environmental and Children’s Study (JECS) was under way in Fukushima at the time of the triple disaster. It was initially to assess the effects of environmental factors on children’s health, but given the situation particular to the accident, it could also offer an additional source of material with which to examine the psychological impacts of the disaster on mothers. This study aimed to examine the characteristics of mental health of Fukushima mothers after the triple disaster by comparing the scores in Fukushima with the nationwide scores. Then, it aimed to examine associations between their maternal bonding and mental health both during pregnancy and following birth.
The JECS administered the Kessler 6-item psychological distress scale (K6) during pregnancy and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) 1 month following birth to 97 454 eligible women. In conjunction with the JECS, this study analysed the scores of 11 630 women in Fukushima which were obtained in the JECS between 2011 and 2elationship between maternal bonding and mental health both during pregnancy and following birth by using the sequential and periodic national data sets. While showing the maternal characteristics associated with depressive symptoms during pregnancy and following birth in Japan, it distinguished the characteristics between Fukushima and nationwide. It raised the possibility that providing mothers in Fukushima with supports to increase their bonding toward their pregnancy could prevent the development of depressive tendency. The results could suggest that not only depression prevention measures but also maternal bonding support could be necessary in the region.
